Mplify/MEF Accelerator “Flat Hammer”: A new breed of enterprise cloud network automation

MEF Professionals Awards

Enterprises demand seamless, secure connectivity across distributed sites and users—all managed from one centralised ecosystem. Yet no single communications provider delivers true global coverage.

The alternative? Stitching together networks from multiple providers—a Herculean task akin to building a house with bricks from ten different quarries. The result: protracted negotiations, spiralling costs, operational headaches, and inconsistent outcomes.

Amartus partnered with Deutsche Telekom, Equinix, and Inmanta to build a production-ready showcase addressing this fundamental challenge. Based on established Mplify/MEF LSO standards, the Flat Hammer Open Standards API showcase transforms fragmented connectivity into unified Network-as-a-Service delivery.

Core capabilities

End-to-end enterprise connectivity through standardised communication protocols that streamline service ordering, negotiation, and management across provider boundaries.

Centralised service visibility via an aggregated platform that eliminates switching between disparate systems and data harmonisation overhead.

Dynamic multi-provider orchestration enabling enterprises to transition from single-vendor stacks to optimised multi-provider ecosystems without operational disruption.

Architecture: nBrace™ orchestration engine

Our inter-party automation solution, nBrace™, functions as the orchestration backbone—delivering cloud-simple ordering experiences (find, book, pay, provision, use workflow) whilst brokering between enterprise requirements and wholesale connectivity partners.

The framework leverages standardised Mplify LSO APIs, enabling automatic negotiation, ordering, and operation of network services across providers. Policy-driven decisioning selects optimal providers for access, cloud interconnect, or specialised components—functioning like intelligent fare comparison but for network infrastructure.

Implementation follows a phased approach: initial focus on cross-domain order negotiation, extending into Performance Management and Trouble Ticketing for complete lifecycle operations. This methodology ensures harmonious integration without disrupting existing enterprise operations.

True Network-as-a-Service

Flat Hammer demonstrates ecosystem-to-enterprise automation—sourcing, composing, and operating end-to-end networks from multiple providers through a single, standardised interface. Enterprises purchase unified NaaS offerings without concerning themselves with underlying integrations or provider complexities.

The solution aggregates disparate providers into a cohesive service layer, enabling central management through one interface. By adhering to Mplify standardisation, implementation follows plug-and-play principles for compliant enterprises, eliminating custom integration overhead.

The enterprise becomes the command centre—leveraging marketplace-like ordering and deployment whilst maintaining full operational control.
